The Client, a Fortune 500 Big Oil & Gas Global giant has acquired several small to large corporations over multiple decades, across over 200 countries in the world. In doing so, has also acquired the medical facilities being provided to all its employees, contractors, vendors in each of their operating countries.
The medical facilities range from small clinics, to large full facility hospitals, including cardio, pulmonary, neurological, Oncology facilities. All these medical facilities all over the world use heterogeneous medical record keeping systems. Small clinics use paper workflows, medium size facilities use excel based workflows n large facilities/hospitals have their own existing Electronic Medical Record keeping software systems.
The problem is that the corporation did not have any centralized Electronic Medical Record keeping system for all employees worldwide. There was an opportunity to add efficiency in their ecosystem by replacing these multiple heterogeneous systems which did not talk to each other, by single Secured Cloud (SaaS) solution which would provide centralized Electronic Medical Record keeping ability to each and every employee, contractor, vendor in each country of this corporation, thereby giving the corporation the ability to start enforcing Corporate standard worldwide, and giving ability to centralize record keeping, running metrics, and ensuring good health across the board, thereby improving the overall health of their associates and further helping improve the organizational productivity.
The Solution
The challenge for RadiumSpark’s Health and Medical team was to work with client’s over 100 Health and Medical experts within their corporation to help design, develop, integrate a HIPPA compliant, Safe Harbor compliant, highly secured Cloud (SaaS) solution that will work as foundation for replacing several of the above existing heterogeneous systems, and help simplify the process of adding complex workflows for cardio, pulmonary, neurological, oncology practices to be added on top of the framework, yet having the flexibility to meet the privacy and regulatory compliance requirements of each and every country.
The new SaaS system needed to be integrated with existing SAP, JD Edwards ERP systems, to create a fully integrated system that would enable the Corporate Department to manage the health of all employees, vendors, contractors across all 200 countries. The corporation needed RadiumSpark to plan systematic conversion and migration from all existing medical record keeping systems worldwide to this single SaaS solution. This was a major undertaking for this large corporation.
Based on the extensive Risk Management experience RadiumSpark’s team worked together with the Health & Medical department, IT department and each and every country to redesign the existing heterogeneous workflows to single SaaS solution, which enabled single-sign-on, role based provisioning. The entire system is designed, built, configured and implemented to provide the needed integration with existing ERP systems with phase wise implementation one country at a time without disrupting the day to day life of the health and medical practitioners in each country in this large enterprise environment.
The Result
The corporation now has a centralized Electronic Medical Record keeping system for all employees worldwide, adding efficiency in their ecosystem by replacing multiple heterogeneous systems which did not talk to each other, by single secured Cloud (SaaS) solution which provides centralized Electronic Medical Record keeping ability to each and every employee, contractor & vendor in each country of this corporation.
Gave the corporation the ability to start enforcing Corporate standard worldwide, and ability to centralize record keeping, running metrics, and ensuring good health across the board, thereby improving the overall health of their associates and further helping improve the organizational productivity.
